One of my clients in the luxury property development space is looking to hire a Financial Controller to join their growing team. Their clients are mixed-use lifestyle estates located in Johannesburg, South Africa, known for upscale living environment, which spans over 2,000 acres of lush landscapes and integrates residential, commercial, and recreational amenities, creating a self-contained community within the lush developments.

For this Senior Financial Accountant role, the ideal candidate would likely need strong financial oversight skills with experience in property development or mixed-use estates. They should excel in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management, especially in high-value, luxury projects. Knowledge of compliance, financial reporting, and an understanding of the unique demands of luxury property clientele will also be key. Given the large-scale operations and premium nature of this estate, someone who can manage complex financial structures and collaborate with cross-functional teams — especially in a dynamic and expanding environment — would be a strong fit.
 
This role reports to the Finance Reporting Manager and will assume responsibility for: Reconciliations at month-end, reporting, financial year-end audits, completion of the monthly management accounts etc.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• BCom Degree in Accounting
• Sage X3
• SAICA articles
• 5 years post-articles
