My client is a well-established firm specializing in high-quality auditing and accounting services. We pride ourselves on integrity, accuracy, and adding value to our clients. Our Nelspruit team is growing, and we’re seeking a Senior Accountant, with a BCom qualification and completed SAIPA articles, to bring expertise and dedication to our clients in the auditing sector.

Position Summary:

Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Assist in audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting in line with SAIPA standards and regulations.
Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure all accounts are accurately maintained.
Work with clients to gather information, understand their business needs, and provide financial guidance.
Support the month-end and year-end closing processes for client accounts.
Conduct variance analysis, identify discrepancies, and recommend adjustments or improvements.
Provide training and guidance to junior staff, fostering growth and knowledge-sharing within the team.
Stay up to date with changes in accounting and auditing standards to maintain best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting (BCom) required.
Completion of SAIPA articles as a minimum.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., CaseWare, Pastel, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong understanding of IFRS and GAAP principles.
Proficient in VAT and income tax submissions.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
