Hire Resolve's Client is currently seeking a NC Superintendent Category Management who will play a pivotal role in the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the company's procurement and category management functions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the category strategy within the non-core category areas, driving cost savings, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring supply chain sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category management strategies in line with organizational objectives
• Lead supplier negotiations to ensure best pricing and contractual terms
• Conduct market analysis and research to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Total cost of ownership (TCO)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align category strategies with operational needs
• Monitor and manage supplier performance and relationships
• Analyze spend data to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Prepare and present reports on category performance and initiatives

Requirements

• Grade 12
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in category management or procurement in the mining or industrial sector
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage supplier relationships effectively
• Experience leading and developing teams
• Strong organizational and project management skills

• Computer Proficiency
• Proficient in MS Office Suite: Word (basic), Excel (advanced), PowerPoint (intermediate), and JD Edwards (basic).

• Skilled at establishing and maintaining relationships with employees, clients, management, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Project Management
• Competent in managing and coordinating projects involving internal and external parties; experienced in project coordination, planning, budget control, and cost management.

• Proficient in analyzing data, verifying information, and identifying recommendations to support BI (Business Intelligence) opportunities.
• Technical Knowledge
• In-depth knowledge of engineering, production processes, and mining operating principles; effectively applies relevant skills and procedures to all technical aspects of the job.
