One of our clients in the medical industry is seeking a Financial Controller to join their passionate team in Cape Town. If you’re a skilled financial professional, ready to make a tangible impact in healthcare, this is the role for you!

Position Overview:
As the Financial Controller, you’ll oversee financial operations, delivering essential guidance to support our mission. This hands-on role requires a meticulous and organized approach to ensure financial integrity and implement best practices across all financial activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage comprehensive financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Oversee procurement of materials and equipment.
• Ensure compliance by preparing and presenting accurate financial statements in line with regulatory and company policies.
• Develop and enforce internal controls to maintain financial data integrity.
• Lead annual budgeting, providing analysis and review for senior management.
• Manage cash flow and banking relationships, ensuring optimal financial health.
• Coordinate external audits and manage the annual audit process.
• Provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making and growth.
• Oversee tax planning and compliance, ensuring accurate, timely filings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Honours preferred.
• Proficient in financial management software (Xero preferred) and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Experience in SME settings with a focus on research and development is ideal.
• Power BI experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to engage across all levels.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
