Our client, a privately-owned higher education institute that offers accredited Higher Certificate Programmes is looking for a dynamic and passionate FET Physical Science lecturer to join its team. The successful candidate will teach Physical Science to learners in a university preparation programme.

FET Gr. 12 Physical Science Lecturer

Upington area, Northern Cape

Requirements:

-        a BSc degree (with Chemistry and Physics: minimum second-year level) or B.Ed (Physical Science as a major);

-        A professional teaching qualification with a minimum of five years FET Grade 12 teaching experience;

-        Proven track record of student success in the NSC Grade 12 results;

-        Computer literacy (in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint);

-        A passion for teaching learners to improve their physical science marks;

-        Fluency in English.

Duties:

-        Facilitation /teaching;

-        Implementing an active learning approach in teaching and learning (learner-centred approach);

-        Materials and resources development;

-        Academic support to learners;

-        Guidance to learners to continue with tertiary studies.

-        Academic support to learners to successfully enable learners to enhance their NSC scores by at least 15% percentage points.

-        General administrative duties;

-        Committee work as may be reasonably requested by the employer;

-        Assistance with the facilitation and scheduling of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities as reasonably requested by the employer.

-        Supervision duties over one weekend per month will be required.

The successful candidate must be committed to excellence and have a learner-centred approach to teaching.

The successful candidate must be willing to live on the Duin-in-die-Weg campus approximately 70 kilometres from Upington.
