Employer: The Building Company

    Introduction:

    Responsible for contributing to the continuous improvement of our Commerce platforms, focusing on Magento development, enhancing user experience and frontend design. Assist in creating user-centric designs, solving UX problems, and building efficient code for future use.

    Description:


    • Magento Development: Contribute to the development and maintenance of our Magento Commerce platform, including troubleshooting and resolving issues, implementing new features and improvements.

    • Frontend Development: Work with the design team to translate UI/UX design wireframes into actual code that will produce visual elements of the application.

    • User Experience (UX) Design: Assist in researching, conceptualizing, and implementing a user-focused design approach that offers a seamless shopping experience to our customers.

    • User Journey Mapping: Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to understand and optimize the user journey, ensuring a seamless flow from product discovery to checkout.

    • Website Optimization: Assist in performance optimization of the website, improving load speeds, optimizing images and implementing SEO best practices.

    • Testing and QA: Participate in quality assurance testing for all web development projects, ensuring functionality, performance and responsive design across multiple devices and browsers.

    • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, graphic designers, product managers, marketing and partner agencies / specialists.

    • Systems: Familiarity with APIs, Product Information Management (PIM) Systems, payment gateway and switching interfaces, and mobile application development will be advantageous

    • Building stakeholder relationships

    • To uphold and promote the company values.



      • Requirements:

      Grade 12


      University Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or related relevant field


      1-2 years of experience in eCommerce development, specifically with Magento


      Exposure to digital marketing and social media platforms (desirable)


      Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery


      Familiarity with tools such as Photoshop is advantageous.


      Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.


      Experience in user journey mapping, UX design, and frontend development


      Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail


      Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines


      Excellent verbal and written communication skills


      A passion for eCommerce and mobile app development and a commitment to staying current with emerging technologies
