Employer: National Risk Managers ( Affinity Health)
Our GRC department is seeking an experienced Copywriter with extensive background in report writing to Board/Commitee levels. This includes developing clear, concise, and accurate written materials related to GRC policies, procedures, andbest practices, as well as reviewing and managing documents and public-facing material for the company.
Tasks:
a) Develop, review and update all written and published content:
• Develop clear, accurate, and engaging written materials related to GRC topics,
communications, and product material
• Ensure content meets regulatory requirements, company style guides, and target audience
needs
• Maintain high grammar, punctuation, and spelling standards in all written materials
• Craft clear, concise, and engaging content tailored to the target audience's level of
understanding (e.g., executives, managers, employees)
• Utilize appropriate writing styles and tones depending on the content type (e.g., formal for
policies, informative for training modules)
• Regularly review existing written materials for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with
current regulations, policies, and best practices

• Work with internal publishing teams or content management systems (CMS) to publish and
distribute finalised GRC materials
b) Manage and maintain the document control processes:
• Develop and maintain an inventory of all published content, including version control and
access controls
• Develop and implement procedures for document creation within the GRC team, ensuring
proper version control and authorship tracking
• Establish guidelines for document naming conventions, formatting, and metadata tagging for
easy searchability and retrieval
• Create and maintain templates for commonly used GRC documents (e.g., policies, procedures,
training materials) to ensure consistency and efficiency
• Implement a document submission and review system, potentially involving workflows and
approval processes
• Maintain an up-to-date document register that lists all controlled documents, their versions,
status, and location within a document control system
• Prioritise content development and update based on urgency, regulatory changes, or
identified knowledge gaps within the organisation
• Maintain a clear understanding of the content lifecycle, from initial development to
publication, archiving, and potential retirement
c) Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders:
• Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., HR, IT, Marketing and Design) to understand
their communication needs and tailor content accordingly
• Collaboratively review drafts to ensure technical accuracy, align content with Subject Matter
Experts’ intent, and bridge any knowledge gaps for the target audience
• Maintain open communication channels to address questions or clarifications arising during
the writing process
• Collaborate on developing communication plans to ensure clear and consistent messaging on
GRC initiatives and policies
• Proactively keep stakeholders informed on the progress of content development and address
any concerns they may have
• Craft executive summaries or leadership presentations that effectively convey key messages
concisely and impactfully
• Clearly communicate deadlines, expectations, and project timelines to ensure stakeholders
are always kept informed of expectations
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
• Matric
• NQF 6 or higher in communications, language, copywriting or other such similar field
Essential Experience:
• 2 years writing copy, journals, legal opinions or academic articles
• Any experience in governance, risk, or compliance-related fields• Experience in the Financial Services Industry
Knowledge and Skills:
• Strong understanding of core GRC principles
• Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise, and easy-to-understand language
• Excellent written communication skills, including a proven ability to edit and proofread
content for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and style consistency
• Proficient in using collaborative writing tools and project management platforms
