Managed Talent Solutions, a Business Unit within Datacentrix is looking for an experienced Azure SQL DBA to join an ambitious cloud provider to help manage and maintain their modern and complexSQL, Azure SaaS, , & Database estate. The role includes: balancing delivery speed with service reliability, the role plays a crucial role in managing problems, deploying and monitoring services, and establishing software delivery pipelines using both SQL and the Microsoft Azure platform.You will also be tasked with the swift resolution of all data-related issues and will oversee application databases within the estate.

Required Qualifications:

Matric plus Diploma/Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
Microsoft SQL certification

Skills and experiences required:

Proficiency in SQL Server and Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.
Experience in Windows and Linux operating system administration.
Familiarity with Microsoft DevOps and PowerShell scripting.
Experience with Postgres SQL will be a strong advantage.
Expertise in utilizing IaaS and PaaS services, including database services and Kubernetes.
Understanding of IP subnetting, Network Security Groups, routing, Azure Firewall, load balancing, DNS, and other networking concepts and protocols.
Knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies.
Expertise and experience monitoring Azure workspaces, VM's, VM drives, Memory etc.
Expertise and experience creating MS Visio diagrams as they relate to MS SQL and database design

Day to day deliverables includes:

Troubleshoot data-related issues, ensuring smooth business operations.
Perform performance tuning and implement database backups for disaster recovery.
Manage SQL Server Databases and develop databases for MI reporting.
Ensuring all hardware and software are updated.
Assist to define data retention policies and automation.
Work with ISO27001 Compliance Team on issue reporting, resolution, and change control.
Support and Troubleshooting – Assist Operations Team with any environment issues during application deployment across Development, QA, Staging, and Production environments.
Assist other teams and customers with troubleshooting problems that may arise from applications or integration of various components.
Create scripts for system integration, monitoring, and application data analysis.
Deploy and manage virtual machines in highly available settings.
Resolve third-line data-related tickets and troubleshoot infrastructure and network issues.
Design and implement Azure data protection features, overseeing application architecture suitability.
Manage communication with infrastructure partner teams.
Create and manage virtual networks with high performance and security levels.
Continuously improve cloud-based solutions and define best practices for deployment and maintenance while ensuring optimal application performance and uptime.
