High performing, dynamic and growing manufacturing company operating in South African as well as internationally is looking for driven and high performing individuals to join its Health & Safety team in Amanzimtoti as a Junior Health & Safety Officer on a 12-month YES4Youth employment program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. PPE ordering and issuing
2. Arranging medicals
3. Inductions on employees and contractors
4. Housekeeping
5. Work closely with SHE Reps
6. Arranging equipment services (fire equipment and fire protection systems)
7. Safety Appointments
8. Incident investigations
9. Contractor Control
10. Administrative work (filling and creating PO’s)
Required Skills
- Working In A Manufacturing Enviroment As A Safety Officer Or Safety Admninistrator: 1 to 2 years
- Must Have Grade 12 Mathematics: 1 year or less
Candidate Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
1. Grade 12 (with a pass in Mathematics)
2. Must have Safety Management Training Course (SAMTRAC) or similar qualification
3. Minimum of 1 year working experience in Manufacturing environment (Safety Administrator, Safety Officer).
4. Experience in managing contractors will be an advantage.
5. Must be unemployed
6. Individuals must be between the ages of 18 and 34
7. Must be a South African citizen
8. Content with working on a 12 month YES4Youth Learnership Contract (to commence work on the 06th January 2025)
9. Be computer literate in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
10. Have the ability to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken word)
11. Functions well under pressure
12. Strong work ethics and values with excellent organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
13. Organised/driven and committed to learning
14. Strong conflict resolution skills and not afraid to hold people accountable
15. Desire and ability to take full ownership of projects and produce high quality work
16. Proactive and has the ability to be self-managed
RUMUNERATION
Market related for learnerships – will be discussed at interview stage
