Duties and responsibilities:
• Inspection (Cluster of residence's allocated):
o Conduct various building inspections and assessments.
• Administration (Cluster of residence's allocated):
o Compile reports.
o Evaluate and approve/deny maintenance service requests.
o Compile monthly reports on inspections conducted including recommendations.
o Handle all inquiries and issues pertaining to service requests.
o Conduct maintenance trend analysis.
o Perform general administration.
• Maintenance Management (Cluster of residence's allocated):
o Facilitate all forms of building maintenance: preventative, reactive, planned maintenance.
o Supervise and manage in-house technical assistants.
o Assist with the Building Asset Management.
o Perform general maintenance management duties.
• Projects (Cluster of residence's allocated):
o Represent the department during capital projects.
• Management of factotum store, keys and locks:
o Assist in managing store on an ad hoc basis.
o Assist keys and locks section on an ad hoc basis.
• After hour maintenance:
o Be on standby for emergency maintenance callouts after hours, as per the roster.
o Open doors due to faulty locks/handles.
• Fleet management:
o Assist in the management of the fleet.
Inherent requirements:
• A three-year National diploma on NQF Level 6 or a B-degree on NQF Level 7 in the built environment or facilities management.
• Minimum of two (2) years relevant working experience relating to the duties and responsibilities.
• Valid Driver's Licence
Recommendations:
• Experience working in the Higher Education Sector
• Experience in on-site construction and/or facilities management
