The following challenging career opportunity is on offer at one of our clients in the mining industry. They are recruiting for a dynamic and motivated person for one of their mines in the Northern Cape:

MINE MANAGER

POSTMASBURG AREA, NORTHERN CAPE

Requirements:

-   A Diploma / B. Tech Mining Engineering qualification with minimum 15 years’ experience in open pit mining, majority of which should be in a 3.1 legal capacity.

-   Mine Manager’s certificate of competency (DMRE)

-   Mine Overseer’s certificate will be advantageous.

-   Proven track record of networking and stakeholder relations.

-   Strong people Management / Leadership skills.

-   Good analytical and negotiations skills.

-   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities will include:

-   Manage the life of mine plan.

-   Manage continuous improvement through operational excellence.

-   Determine, implement and monitor production strategies, activities, plans reports and schedules.

-   Directional support to manage mining/ plant scope.

-   Inspection of pits and improve ore body knowledge and resources.

-   Ensuring clear communication of progress to plan.

-   Drafting and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure adherence to mining and safety standards, organisational standards per MHSA and other legislative requirements.

-   Work closely with 4.1 appointee and other team members to drive production targets, discipline, control costs and improve efficiencies whilst ensuring high safety standards.
