Hire Resolve's client, an insurance company, is looking for a skilled Data Scientist to join their team in Parktown, Gauteng. In this position, you will be tasked with leveraging data to derive insights, identify trends, and support strategic initiatives.

As a Data Scientist, you will engage with a variety of datasets and employ statistical models and machine learning algorithms to provide actionable recommendations. Your findings will directly impact business performance and help shape data strategy across different departments.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse and interpret complex data sets to derive insights and support data-driven decision-making
• Develop and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide analytical support
• Create data visualizations and presentations to communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
• Continuously assess and enhance data accuracy, quality, and completeness
• Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and best practices in data science and analytics
• Document processes and methodologies for data modelling and analysis

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
• 4-6 years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R
• Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar
• Proficient in Microsoft Azure, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Solid understanding of machine learning techniques and statistical methods
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• A strong ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
