MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Machining Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the machining department to ensure efficient production processes, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage a team of machinists and production staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the machining operations to meet production targets and to produce accurate, on time production schedules.
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources, including manpower, machinery, and materials.
- Monitor production processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Accurate tooling and material management and planning
Quality Control:
- Oversee the quality assurance processes to ensure all products meet or exceed customer specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the Quality Controller to address any non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Reducing Waste products and be continuously cost consciences.
- Adhering to and enforcing ISO9001:2015 standards
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of machinists and production staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback and support professional development.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and continuous improvement.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all machining operations comply with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical guidance and support to the machining team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
- Stay updated with the latest machining technologies and industry trends.

Required Skills
- Production Manager: 10 years or more
- Mastercam: 10 years or more
- Cnc Machines: 10 years or more
Candidate Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in a managerial role in the machining or manufacturing environment.
Excellent knowledge of Mastercam, manual milling as well as CNC machines (Johnford and Goodway) and CNC Routers
Proven track record of managing production teams and achieving manufacturing targets
Well-developed computer skills to be able to implement and maintain effective processes and procedures.
Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tools, and equipment.
Proficient in CNC programming, particularly with Mastercam and Fanuc controls.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Proficient in using production management software and MS Office applications.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of ISO requirements
