Hire Resolve's Client is seeking a skilled Category Manager: Technical Procurement for a prominent engineering and manufacturing firm in Cape Town. This role requires a dynamic individual who will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that align with the company’s operational requirements and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical procurement strategy across various categories to support project execution and operating costs.
• Negotiate contracts effectively to ensure the best prices and terms while fostering strong supplier relationships.
• Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to inform sourcing decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and finance teams to establish purchasing requirements and specifications.
• Identify and mitigate risks in supply chain and procurement processes.
• Continuously monitor supplier performance and implement improvement strategies.
• Manage procurement budget and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in technical procurement or category management.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and contract management.
• Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Proficiency in procurement software and analytics tools.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
