Hire Resolve's client is on the lookout for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our their innovative team in a hybrid working model based in Johannesburg or Cape Town. In this crucial role, you will lead efforts to protect our clients' IT infrastructure and applications from cyber threats while ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will work collaboratively with various teams to develop robust security solutions, conduct risk assessments, and enhance the overall security posture of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage security measures for the protection of computer systems and networks.
• Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses and recommend effective solutions.
• Lead incident response and forensics investigations to address and mitigate security breaches.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Provide training and awareness programs to staff to promote a culture of security.
• Stay up to date with the latest security threats and technologies.
• Collaborate with IT teams to secure system architecture and ensure secure coding practices.
• Prepare security reports for management and provide updates on security initiatives.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in cyber security, with a focus on security engineering and risk management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and best practices.
• Experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection.
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices, including hybrid environments.
• Proven experience with incident response and disaster recovery planning.
• Technical proficiency in programming/scripting languages - AWS is preferred.
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH) are advantageous.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
