KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Project Manager, Stay in Business Projects

The Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To manage and execute the Kamoa Stay in Business Projects which includes, facilities, accommodation, recreational, bulk power reticulation, water (supply, storage and control), roads and drainage, tailings dam, earthworks and other. The incumbent leads, coordinates, implements, executes and controls - from project development to completion and commissioning. The Project Manager must ensure consistency with overall KCSA strategies, goals and visions in line with company policies and procedures

You will have the following:

• Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Mining, Mechanical, Processing etc.)
• Project Management Diploma
• 10 – 15 years Project management experience, preferably in the Mining and Processing environment.
• Excellent track record and similar experience in African countries highly advantageous.

You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:

• Financial & Technical Assessment of Mineral Projects
• Project management *Project controls, planning and scheduling)
• Construction and EPCM Interface Management
• People management
• Strategic planning
• Risk management
• Change management
• Business development
• Safety laws, regulations and standards

Key Responsibilities:

• Take overall responsibility for Project scope, budget and schedule
• Oversee Project Planning, organising and operations
• Manage and coordinate all appointed consultants and contractors
• Coordinate, monitor and control project execution
• Drive effective problem solving and continuous improvement
• Shareholder Relations & Business Development
