We are a Pinelands-based e-commerce and financial services business, and we are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic professional to join our team as an Assistant to the Head of Group Legal Services (In-House Group Legal Advisor). The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating and rendering various legal services across our rapidly expanding organisation.
This role requires a strong academic background, practical experience in commercial law and contracts, well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and exceptional organisational skills.This is a hands-on position which will require the successful candidate to be at the office full-time.
Qualifications:
- LLM degree specialising in commercial law/contracts.
- Admitted attorney.
- Minimum of five years of appropriate post-article work experience.
Responsibilities:
Legal Service Coordination:- Coordinate and render all group legal services, including company secretarial, HR, risk and compliance, complaints resolution and legal insurance activities oversight.
- Serve as a point of contact for legal inquiries and ensure timely resolution.
- Be appraised of all Group Legal activities and new matters arising and be in constant communication with the respective individuals and stakeholders in all the Group companies - across multiple disciplines and management levels - to identify legal services needs and requirements.
- Assist in managing and mentoring young legal professionals in the Group, as well as teams falling under Group Legal and Legal Insurance.
- Draft and review contracts for several group companies and subsidiaries.
- Ensure contracts comply with legal requirements and company policies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to negotiate and finalise contract terms.
- Develop and implement efficient contract management processes.
- Maintain an organised database of contracts and related documents.
- Monitor contract timelines and renewals, ensuring compliance with obligations.
- Conduct legal research on various commercial law matters.
- Analyse legal issues and provide recommendations to the Head of Group Legal Services.
- Stay updated on changes in relevant legislation and regulations.
- Provide administrative support to the Head of Group Legal Services as needed.
- Assist with preparing legal documents, presentations, and reports.
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements.
