A large, international company, dealing within the FMCG environment, has an opportunity for a Site Engineer with a GCC and ammonia experience.

The ideal person will be in possession of at least an N6 or Engineering Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Must be in possession of GCC / or in the process of acquiring a GCC within 6 months from the date of appointment, with 2-4 years of relevant experience or alternatively a Graduate Engineer who has a minimum of 2 years of post-graduate practical experience in operations and maintenance, appropriate to the class of machinery. (Or is a Certificated Engineer.)

Requirements:

At least 2-3 years relevant management experience.
Relevant completed Trade Tests are essential (3 Phase electrical Trade Test, etc.).
Responsible for electrical, mechanical, scales, refrigeration, grounds & buildings and rendering and boilers plants.
Planning maintenance schedules for plant machinery.
Obtaining quotations and ordering spares.
Controlling and eliminating breakdowns.
Ensuring optimum water, electricity, and coal consumption.
Projects and costing.
Continuous improvement.
Budgeting and financial controls including cost savings.
Stock control over engineering equipment.
Driving HACCP systems for both the processing plant and the Maintenance Department to ensure all-inclusive compliance.
Responsible for Health & Safety and accident / incident investigations for the Maintenance Department.
Management and training of maintenance employees including KPI’s.
Minimising plant down-time.
Future planning to ensure maximum efficiency of the plant.
