A well-established financial and payments company based in Johannesburg has a vacancy available for a Head of Finance Reporting with a CA(SA) qualification/CIMA Qualification, at least 7 years of post-article work experience within a medium to large enterprise, and at least 3 years of work experience heading up and managing finance teams.
As the Head of Reporting, reporting to the CFO, you will be managing and leading the reporting function of the organization and play a key role in the achievement of the company’s financial objectives by leading the preparation of a sound financial plan, monitoring results, and recommending a course of action.
Key stakeholders, the incumbent will engage with: Executives and Management, Cost Centre Managers, External and Internal Audit, Board Committee Members, and Customers, as required.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the preparation of reporting the annual financial statements.
- Oversee the preparation of reports that go to external stakeholders.
- Financial Reporting.
- Oversee the drafting of financial statements in line with IFRS.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports.
- Review and approve financial disclosures and notes.
- Coordinate with auditors to facilitate the audit process.
- Balance sheet attestation and optimization.
- Liquidity Management.
- Treasury/Money market experience would be an advantage

- Subject Matter Expertise - Support Management by providing insightful financial advice as required (examples include contract management, budget preparation, ad-hoc analysis, cost containment recommendations, etc.)

- Contribute to the development, amendment, and implementation of relevant policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and internal controls framework. Ensure the controls are effective, appropriate, and enforced. Address promptly any internal audit observations and mitigate risks, as required.

Ensure that the team has the appropriate level of management oversight, a solid understanding of work requirements, and the expertise to perform adequately. Ensure that the team’s goals are aligned with business strategies, well documented, clearly understood, and regularly reviewed. Deliver internal and external stakeholder requirements/SLAs/OLAs.
Candidate Requirements
- CA(SA) qualification/CIMA Qualification and at least 7 years of post-article work experience within a medium to large enterprise.
- At least 3 years of experience heading up and managing finance teams.
- Budgeting and consolidation of reports.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with a diversified range of internal and external business contacts ranging from board members, and senior executives to other staff members.
