Hero Classics, located at Dubai’s Autodrome, specialises in restoring and repairing a wide range of classic, and future classic cars and in carrying out bespoke modifications and ‘resto-mod’ conversions.
We are looking for a Classic Car Mechanic/Electrical Technician with classic vehicle experience who is capable of leading a small team of technicians and working on a wide range of vehicles, including a small fleet of modern, in-house vehicles.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical team as a whole produces work to the highest of standards, project managing their own and others' workloads, leading by example and ensuring efficiency throughout the department.
We are looking for highly motivated candidates with strong experience working in a similar role within the automotive/classic car restoration industry who are looking for an exciting new career opportunity.
Your responsibilities will include;
- Project management of vehicle restorations, assisting the admin team with mechanical/restoration estimates, producing detailed parts lists and liaising with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the business and efficient progress of projects as they move through each restoration stage.
- Vehicle and component strip-down/refurbishment/assembly, major and minor mechanical repairs, engine and transmission rebuilding, engine tuning and set-up of carburettors/fuel injection systems, automotive electrical diagnosis, repair and installation of aftermarket electrical systems, and general vehicle restoration tasks.
- Working independently to meet strict project deadlines without constant supervision, managing your project efficiently including producing parts lists and completion of detailed job records.
- Ensuring parts for workshop projects are ordered promptly to ensure continuous progress of workshop jobs, and all consumable items are booked to each job as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Have a keen eye for detail, enjoy working to the very highest of standards, always strive for perfection, take pride in the quality of their work, and have a strong interest in classic cars.
- Have at least 10 years’ experience in a relevant field within the automotive industry and hold industry qualifications, be comfortable working to strict deadlines/target hours and able to follow detailed work instructions.
- Have good communication and IT skills, a positive ‘can-do’ attitude, a strong work ethic, and be punctual/organized.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Have a positive approach to learning new skills and working as part of a team.
- Hold a Driving License.
