Head Guide Responsibilities:

Leading Guided Tours:
- Conduct informative and engaging guided walks and drives, educating guests about wildlife, flora, and ecosystems.
- Ensure guest safety during excursions, managing risks and providing first aid when necessary.

Wildlife Tracking:
- Utilize tracking skills to locate and identify wildlife, enhancing the guest experience with informative commentary.

Environmental Education:
- Teach guests about conservation efforts, sustainability practices, and the importance of protecting natural habitats.

Guest Engagement:
- Build rapport with guests through storytelling and personalized interactions, creating memorable experiences.

Equipment Management:
- Ensure all guiding equipment (e.g., first aid kits, binoculars) is well-maintained and available.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Hospitality Management, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry.
- Proven experience as a guide in a safari or wilderness context.
- Certifications:
- FGASA or equivalent guiding certification; First Aid and CPR certification; advanced driver’s license (if required).

Qualifications for Safari Manager

Education:
- Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism, Wildlife Biology, or a related field.

Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in hospitality management, preferably in a safari lodge or similar environment.
- Proven track record in managing teams and operations effectively.

Certifications:
- Certifications in hospitality management or tourism may be advantageous.
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification.

Skills:
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Financial management skills, including budgeting and revenue management.
- Knowledge of guest relations and service excellence.
Qualifications for Head Guide

Education:
- Degree or Diploma in Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred but not always mandatory.

Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience as a guide in safari or wilderness settings.
- Experience in wildlife tracking and outdoor education.

- Field Guide Association of Southern Africa (FGASA) or equivalent guiding certification.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Additional certifications in wilderness survival or outdoor leadership can be beneficial.
