The DA wishes to appoint a dynamic, self-motivated and goal-driven individual in our Federal Leader’s Office. The successful candidate will be based at our Parliamentary offices and will report to the Chief of Staff in the Federal Leader’s Office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the management of the Leader’s diary and resolving diary clashes
- Completing a wide-ranging administrative tasks, including logistical support and meeting preparation
- Communicating directly, and on behalf of the Leader, with internal departments and external stakeholders, and responding to relevant queries
- Assisting the Chief of Staff in the implementation of campaign plans
- Preparing material for the Leader’s engagements
- Assisting the Chief of Staff in administrative and logistical matters relating to the cabinet
Prospective applicants must meet the following requirements:
- National Senior Certificate or equivalent
- Relevant qualification advantageous
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role at executive level
- Computer literacy, particularly MS Office Suite
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management and organisational abilities
- Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing levels of priority
- Outcomes-orientated, not simply task-orientated
- Knowledge of the local, provincial and national political and legislative framework and dynamics
- Commitment to the principles, policies and programme of action of the Democratic Alliance
- Willingness to travel across the country, for extended periods at times
- Willingness to go the extra mile, which include working long and irregular hours, weekends, and public holidays where necessary
- Applicants MUST be in possession of a valid driver’s licence and have access to an insured vehicle for occasional use
