Job Overview:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead and manage the strategic direction and operations of our well-established professional body dedicated to promoting and enhancing financial management and related professions within the public sector. This role requires an exceptional leader capable of advancing the organization's objectives while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The CEO will work closely with the board of directors and key stakeholders to implement strategies that maintain the organisation’s position as a leader in public sector financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Planning
Develop and execute the organisation's strategic plan in alignment with its mission to enhance public sector financial management.
Lead the organisation’s efforts to adapt to changing regulatory environments and industry standards.
Oversee the development and implementation of new programmes and initiatives to advance the financial and audit professions within the public sector.
Governance and Compliance
Ensure the organisation operates in compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
Report to the board of directors and provide strategic recommendations based on organisational performance, market trends, and member needs.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with key regulatory bodies and stakeholders to ensure continued recognition and credibility.
Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy
Represent the organisation at high-level meetings, conferences, and forums to advocate for the interests of finance and related professions in the public sector.
Build and maintain strong relationships with government entities, public sector bodies, and other relevant institutions.
Promote membership growth and engagement by ensuring the organisation’s offerings remain relevant and valuable to public sector professionals.
Financial Oversight and Operational Management
Lead the development of the annual budget and ensure sound financial management to maintain the organisation’s sustainability.
Oversee the organisation’s operational functions, including member services, programme delivery, and professional development initiatives.
Manage and mentor senior management staff to drive organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
Professional Development and Recognition
Ensure the organisation continues to provide high-quality professional development opportunities and certification programmes for public sector finance professionals.
Work to enhance the recognition and credibility of the organisation’s certifications and designations in the industry.
Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the organisation.

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field is required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role within the public sector, non-profit, or professional body environment, preferably in the finance or audit fields.
Proven track record of successful strategic planning, operational management, and financial oversight.
Strong knowledge of public sector regulations, compliance standards, and the financial management landscape.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government entities, regulatory bodies, and members.
Demonstrated experience in managing a membership-based organisation and promoting member growth and engagement.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team to achieve organisational objectives.
