Job Title: Banqueting ManagerLocation: 5-Star Hotel & Lodge, Polokwane, LimpopoJob Overview:We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Banqueting Manager to join our team at our luxurious 5-star hotel and lodge in Polokwane, Limpopo. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of banqueting events, including weddings, conferences, and private functions. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a passion for delivering exceptional service, and the ability to coordinate events smoothly from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all banqueting events, ensuring seamless delivery and high standards of service.
- Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
- Work closely with the kitchen, sales, and operations teams to ensure that all event details, including catering, décor, and setup, align with client specifications.
- Manage the banqueting team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management, to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Oversee the setup and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring that all rooms are properly prepared and equipped for each function.
- Monitor event budgets, manage costs, and ensure profitability while maintaining quality standards.
- Conduct post-event evaluations with clients and staff to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized environment in all banqueting areas.
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar role within a 4 or 5-star hotel environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale events, including weddings, conferences, and corporate functions.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing and motivating a diverse team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, with the capability to handle multiple events simultaneously.
- Knowledge of banqueting software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
