As the Financial Manager, you will oversee the financial operations of our retail business, managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. You will play a key role in ensuring the profitability and financial sustainability of our retail operations, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving cost efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of retail finance, including inventory management, sales analysis, and cash flow optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with business goals and market conditions.
Analyse key financial metrics, including sales performance, gross margins, operating costs, and inventory turnover, providing actionable insights to optimize profitability.
Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for daily operations and investment needs, while optimizing working capital and inventory levels.
Monitor and report on store performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to drive cost control and revenue growth.
Collaborate with retail operations, marketing, and supply chain teams to optimize pricing strategies, inventory management, and cost efficiencies.
Oversee the accounts payable/receivable functions and ensure timely and accurate reconciliations.
Lead financial audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations, including sales tax, VAT, and other relevant obligations.
Provide financial support for new store openings, lease negotiations, and capital expenditure decisions.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Completed CA(SA) qualification.
3-5 years post-articles experience and 2 years’ experience within management.
Experience within the retail sector is non-negotiable.
