Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Personal Lines Insurance Underwriting Assistant. In this role, you will provide support to underwriters in assessing, evaluating, and pricing insurance applications for personal lines insurance products. You will be responsible for processing documentation, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring accuracy of policy information.

Responsibilities:

Assist underwriters in evaluating insurance applications and determining policy coverage and pricing
Process policy documentation, endorsements, and renewals
Conduct risk assessments by analyzing applicant information and insurance history
Verify accuracy of policy information and make corrections as necessary
Communicate with agents, policyholders, and other stakeholders to gather additional information or clarify details
Assist in reviewing claims and determining coverage eligibility
Maintain accurate and organized records of policy information and underwriting decisions
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in personal lines insurance underwriting
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred
Prior experience in insurance underwriting, customer service, or a related field is preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications
Knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and industry standards
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Certifications in insurance underwriting or related fields are a plus
