- Represent our company’s products and services, starting with a deep and comprehensive technical knowledge of our products and services
- Understand and research customer needs to identify how our products/solutions meet their needs. Ensuring customer satisfaction by preparing lighting simulations & designs on applicable software.
- Meet weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets through the successful implementation of sales and marketing strategies and tactics
- Generate leads and build relationships by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers
- Develop and implement an action plan through comprehensive data analysis, and adjust sales techniques based on interactions and results in the field
- Maintain working relationships with existing clients to ensure exceptional service and identification of potential new sales opportunities
- Identify appropriate prospects & leads, set appointments, make effective qualifying sales calls, and manage sales cycle to close new business in all service categories offered
- Possess in-depth product knowledge and be able to conduct demos and relay objection handling
- Prepare professional, complete, concise and accurate reports, proposals, case studies, presentations and other documentation as required for executive-level presentations
- Achieve sales goals by assessing current client needs and following a defined selling process with potential buyers, often utilizing product demos and presentations
- Coordinate with other sales reps to ensure company quotas and standards are being met, performing market research and regular competitor monitoring
- Report to management via standard sales reports and CRM
- Identify suitable open RFQ’s and tenders & lead the tendering process
- Identify suitable contractors and market products & services to these contractors
- Identify suitable direct end-users and market products & services to them
- Continuously increase tender, contractor & end-user sales pipeline
- Quote/design/tender on active leads from pipeline
- Convert tenders/quotes/marketing activities into active sales exceeding sales targets
- Support clients on-site & remotely with marketing, branding, shows, lighting designs, training etc
- Maintain customer satisfaction
Job Description
Afrison is seeking a technical sales specialist to help us sell industrial lighting products, solar and services mostly to wholsalers and end-users (like mines & factories) but also to government. The successful candidate will have ample experience in sales, quotes, tenders, RFQ’s and all sales processes and requirements. The sales specialist will be required to excell at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. The ideal candidate will have technical drawing experience or be a quick learner (preferably with technical background) with strong negotiating skills, and the ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way. Often tasked with giving presentations, attending networking events, and attending trade shows, it’s essential that our sales specialist be personable, presentable and professional.

- 5-10 years in sales within an industrial or technical environment
- Proven experience regarding sales
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and organizational skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Technical drawing experience
- Personal integrity
- Self-confidence
- Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license & ability to travel extensively
- CV's with a recent, clear picture of candidate will have preference
- Matric or relevant post-matric qualification
- Other relevant technical or sales qualifications
- Microsoft Office proficiency
