Position reports to Managing Director
Job Purpose:
To increase the sales revenues and maintain customer relationships within an assigned geographical area.
Oversee the daily sales operations that are assigned to a particular geographical area and develop effective Sales strategies and ensure that sales quotas for an assigned territory are met
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Management:
Develop effective territory sales and marketing strategies.
Analyse data to find the most efficient sales methods.
Meet with customers to address concerns and provide solutions.
Discover sales opportunities through consumer research.
Present products and services to prospective customers.
Participate in industry or promotional events (e.g. trade shows) to cultivate customer relationships.
Conduct training in sales techniques and company product attributes.
Assess sales performance according to KPIs.
Monitor competition within assigned region.
Prepare and submit reports to the Operations Director.
Traveling throughout an assigned territory to train and guide company Sales Representatives.
Maintaining solid working relationships with customers by ensuring that their needs are met and resolving complaints in a timely manner.
Continually meeting or exceeding sales targets by persuading customers within an assigned territory to purchase company products and services.
Analysing sales and marketing data to determine the most effective sales and marketing techniques.
Conducting surveys to better understand customer needs.
Attending trade shows to promote company products and services.
Ensuring that brand awareness within an assigned territory meets company expectations.
Motivating Sales Representatives to achieve sales quotas and evaluating their performance based on their ability or inability to achieve sales quotas.
Monitoring competitors’ sales activity within an assigned territory.
Find new sales leads, through business directories, client referrals, etc.
Communicating with customers, making outbound calls to potential customers, and following up on leads.
Negotiating all contracts with prospective clients.
Helping determine pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.
Preparing weekly and monthly reports.
Giving sales presentations to a range of prospective clients.
Direct the territory sales team, teaching them important elements of the company products and services in order to give them the tools needed to be successful team members.
Project potential sales for future quarters and years by reviewing operational reports and records.
Prepare budgets at the beginning of each fiscal year to ensure the corporate money is spent in the best ways possible.
Set promotional discount rates for special seasonal sales or new customers in order to entice both new and repeat customers.
Analyse the sales records of individual team members and the entire staff in order to understand what areas the associates need more guidance in.
Plan advertising services for the territory that is in keeping with the brand of the company and can increase name recognition.
Monitor customer preferences to better understand what type of sales efforts would be most effective for top clients.Attend trade associate meetings as a representative of the company in order to promote products and increase sales numbers for the territory

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:3 years BSC/BA degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing or a related field.
5-8 years proven experience as a Territory Manager in the valves, flow control, process control, instrumentation, pumps etc sector
Must have Sales experience in the mining industry i.e. on-site mine visits in de-watering, process plants, tailings, etc Oil and gas industry experience a definite plus
Proven track record of increasing sales and revenue; field Sales experience.
SADC (Africa) Sales experience preferred
Ability to develop Sales strategies and use performance KPI’s.
Strong Technical and general business acumen
Hands on experience with CRM software and advance MS Excel.
Ability to work in fast-paced
National travel required (50% travel) , and overseas travel for training as and when required.
Must have a valid passport
Knowledge:
Excellent knowledge of all Sales policies and procedures.
Understanding customer needs.
In-depth understanding of the Sales administration process.
Thorough knowledge of company products (valves, variable speed drives, process control, etc)
