A professional nurse for Leisure Gardens Retirement Village

Leisure Gardens, a retirement village on tranquil Leisure Isle in Knysna, on the Garden Route, requires the services of a FULL-TIME PROFESSIONAL NURSE.

Requirements:

1. Registered professional nurse, currently registered with SANC.
2. Minimum 10 years nursing experience.
3. Computer literate (Word, Excel and Outlook).
4. Team player with good communication, organizational skills including compiling shift rosters.
5. Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
6. Ability to communicate well with the elderly and their families.
7. Available to sleep in when on call (overnight accommodation available on site).
8. Own accommodation and transport.
9. Non-smoker and of sober habits.

Advantageous

1. Geriatric experience.
2. Palliative Care experience.

Duties/ Job description

1. Care of 17 residents in Main Building and oversight of residents in 28 cottages.
2. Effective supervision and in-service training of Carers.
3. Liaise with doctors and pharmacies.
