POSITION - ESTATE MANAGER, KLEIN ZEVENWACHT ESTATE, KUILSRIVER
The Estate in Kuils River is divided into 40 residential properties surrounded by vineyards.
Homeowners are responsible for the upkeep of their homes and surrounding gardens but not the vineyards. The vineyards are the responsibility of the Estate Manager together with the Estate infrastructure. Reporting to the Trustees of the HOA, the Estate Manager will oversee the daily operations, ensuring that the estate functions efficiently. Key responsibilities of the position will include but are not limited to:
Estate and Facility Management
- Staff management- contracts, attendance registers and reporting
- Financial management- working within approved budgets, petty cash
- Compliance to the Wieta regulations, preparation for Audits
- Full and successful Vineyard management responsibility including harvest and grape sales
- Maintenance and upkeep of the communal property (gardens/ irrigation/perimeter fencing)
- Ensuring Estate Security and Access are controlled with the service providers according to their SLA’s.
- Obtain quotations, co-ordinate and oversee all maintenance performed on the estate
- Enforcement of compliance to the HOA Constitution, Rules and Building Design Manual in conjunction with the trustees and property managing agents.
Required Skills
- Estate Manager: 1 year or less
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications Required:
- Qualification in Facility / Estate Management or Agriculture advantageous.
Experience required:
- Previous Estate Management or Vineyard Management experience will be an added advantage.
Skills required:
- Intermediate Computer Literacy (Ms Office Programs, Email and Smartphone-based solutions)
- Bilingual (English and Afrikaans) written reporting, emails and client engagement
- Customer Service orientated
- Excellent leadership and staff management skills
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Technically minded / handyman with basic mechanical, electrical, irrigation and plumbing repair work will be an advantage. (boreholes, pumps and irrigation, gates motors etc)

- Highly energetic and mobile
- Self-starter
- Professional approach to team leading
- Observant, pro-active with attention to detail
Other: Advantageous to live in close proximity to the Estate as the applicant will be on call for maintenance or other emergencies should they arise.
Working hours: 07h30-17h00 weekdays, as required for emergencies and during harvest season. A market related salary will be offered based on qualifications and experience.
