A group of companies in the steel industry is looking to appoint a Human Resource professional who is goal-driven and self-motivated, to drive human resource functions for a group of companies.
The candidate will be based in Epping, with offices based in and around the Bellville area, and will be responsible for the following duties:
HR Administration
· Draft and issue letters of employment
· Draft and issue employment contracts, including amendments
· Issue FTC and Terminations
· Manage employee leave
· Draft all policies and procedures
· Initiate all internal disciplinary processes, (warnings, hearings)
· Mediate Grievances
Payroll:
· Sign off weekly wages and submit to finance for payment
· Ensure all details correct on employee profiles
Workman’s compensation
· Register workman's compensation
· Submit monthly reports and annual reports for letter of good standing
· Register IOD claims, submit first, progress and final medical reports
MEIBC (Bargaining Council)
· Represent the company for any Conciliation and Arbitration procedures at the Council, ( including CCMA for non- Council members)
· Register each company with the council and represent company at bargaining council for disputes
· Liaise with MEIBC officials on wage disputes and wage table negotiations
MIBFA (Provident fund)
· Register each staff for provident fund,
· Submit monthly report to MIBFA and Finance department for payment
· Assist employees on terminations and withdrawals from funds
· Assist family with funeral claims
· Assist and submit 2-Pot applications
NUMSA (Union)
· Represent the company in negotiations
· Register employees for membership (when requested)
· Submit monthly reports and submit to finance for payment
Staff PPE
· Order manage the issuing of all PPE workwear bi-annually
Recruitment
· Place all vacancies
· Shortlist and conduct first interviews
· Reference checks
Employee Service System (online application)
· Manage the online system and link all new staff.
· Monitor leave profiles
MERSETA
· Manage admin relating to all learnerships and apprenticeships
· Submit Mandatory and Discretionary grant applications
Skills Development
· Manage the training requirements, and ensure renewals of certificates are timeously renewed.
Required Skills

Candidate Requirements
Candidate Requirements (Skills and Experience)
· National Senior Certificate or equivalent
· Relevant tertiary qualification related to human resources
· 3 years’ experience or exposure to the human resources environment
· Experience in Sage Pastel Payroll essential
· Exposure to the MEIBC will be beneficial
· Knowledge of South African Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act and any other relevant legislation
· Excellent administrative skills, organisational abilities, and meticulous attention to detail
· Own Transportation, with a valid driver’s license essential
