Report to: Health, Safety & Environment Manager
Location: Maitland (please note that this role requires travel to our other sites)
Key Functional Areas: (Including but not limited to)
- Conduct Hazard Identification in all areas of all sites and report findings.
- Conduct thorough HSE related incident investigations.
- Audit and report on HSE inspection compliance.
- Assisting, developing and implementing HSE Procedures.
- Assisting HSE Representatives, First Aiders, Fire Marshals and Emergency Evacuation Marshalls with complaints, inspections and reports.
- Conduct emergency drills and implement corrective actions.
- Auditing of but not limited to all lifting equipment, racking, machines, pressure equipment etc.
- HSE Statistics data capturing on HSE software and filling of documentation.
- Assisting in the arrangement of all legally required inspections and annual training.
- Creating HSE Reports.
- Assisting with COID claims.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
- Relevant Health and Safety certification / qualification. SAMTRAC / NEBOSH would be advantageous.
- At least three years’ experience in a similar role and in an FMCG environment.
- Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act No. 85 of 1993 and Regulations, South African National Standard Codes, National Environmental Management Act No. 107 of 1998 and Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act No. 130 of 1993 and PSIRA regulations.
- Able to conduct risk assessments.
- Exceptional skills in hazard mitigation and risk management.
- Proficient in problem analysis and effective problem-solving skills.
- Possession of a valid Code 08 driver’s license and own transport.
- Able to travel to various sites.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint.
- Must possess sober habits.
