The Counter Salesperson is responsible for interacting with customers in person by attending to their respective enquiries, orders and quotes and making recommendations about the best alternatives available to the customer.
Criteria:
- MatricÂ
- Candidate must at least have 2-3 yearsâ experience and background in the Fluid Control or Steel Industry as product knowledge of these 2 industries is crucial
- Computer literacy - Syspro experience will be an advantage
- Strong verbal communication skills, with a welcoming personality
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency in English and Afrikaans (oral and written)
- The ability to work under pressure
- Greet and assist customers with inquiries, product suggestions, and locating items
- Process customer orders and provide quotations via phone or in writing
- Advise customers on stock availability and lead times
- Develop new sales opportunities through cold calling
- Stay informed on product trends to offer knowledgeable advice
- Understand product functionality and ensure monthly sales and GP targets are met
- Follow up with customers post-sale to ensure satisfaction
- Handle administrative tasks and maintain technical competence in product sales
- Partake in branch stock-takes
