Employee Relations
- Serve as the primary liaison for employees and management to address workplace-related concerns, complaints, and grievances, ensuring timely and equitable resolution
- Investigate and resolve employee disputes and conflicts
- Promote and implement strategies to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion initiatives
- Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of IR policies and procedures, and other HR initiatives and systems.
- Deliver as an Assist the HR Business Partner with the implementation of all human resources strategies, objectives and day-to-day responsibilities.
- Provide HR guidance to team members and managers, setting high expectations of behaviour and performance.
Discipline Management and Dispute Resolution
- Assist in administering the disciplinary process, including issuing warnings and ensuring compliance with due process.
- Coordinate, manage and attend disciplinary hearings and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of disciplinary actions taken.
- Mediate disputes and facilitate effective resolution between employees or between employees and management.
- Represent the company at the CCMA as needed.
HR Operations
- Support the implementation of organizational change initiatives to improve business operations and customer satisfaction.
- Deliver HR expertise on people management, performance management, succession planning, recruitment, onboarding, induction and terminations.
- Work with management to discuss and resolve people challenges.
- Employee Wellness: Appropriate interventions and planning of events.
- Liaise with Learning & Development on learning opportunities and relevant interventions for employees.
Compliance
- Stay updated with South African labour laws and regulations to ensure the company's compliance with all relevant legal requirements.
- Develop and conduct IR training to enhance leadership capabilities.
- Support in the execution of predefined HR Projects and ad hoc duties.
Knowledge and Skills
- 4 to 5 years operational experience in Labour Relations and HR Generalist
- Strong knowledge of South African Employment Law i.e., LRA, BCEA, EEA, Skills Development Act etc and Health and Safety Act
- Proven track record with CCMA representation and other elements of Conflict Management
- Diligent and meticulous attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Planning & Organisational skills
- Relationship building skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Maintain strict confidentiality & professionalism
Education
- Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management OR Industrial Relations OR Labour Law.
