Dermalogica is recruiting an ambitious and driven individual for the exiting role of Area Operations Manager.
The purpose of this role is to effectively manage and support a portfolio of stores within the Dermalogica retail department with all operational duties. Liaise with consumers, clients and suppliers. Actively visit Dermalogica stores to ensure and drive performance, operational compliance and consistency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Achieve sales targets for the region
o Store expenses and budget management
o Prepare and submit POs and conduct invoicing process for stores
o Source and purchase required items for stores within budget
o Manage store expenses within budget and ensure payments are submitted timeously
- Marketing Promotions & Activities
o Ensure execution of planned activations, launches and promotions in Dermalogica stores
o Display and merchandising items reaches stores timeously
o Execution of planned activities are timeous and targets are met.
o Assist with the marketing events
- Visual Merchandising
o Conduct merchandising audits and ensure consistent brand image across stores in line with brand guidelines
- Manage store inventory and stock orders
o Manage in-store inventory ensuring accurate stock reporting and minimal variances
o Conduct independent stock counts
o Consolidate variance reports and investigate variances
o Manage stock returns from stores
o Manage and report on stock expiries
o Consolidate and process stock orders
- Reporting, Systems and Point of Sales
o Systems reporting: Balance system and ESP as required; Ensure revenue balancing across inventory and sales systems and ensure it is in line with the store report
o Reconcile and manage store cashup and banking, submit report to finance
o Reconcile, consolidate and submit store reports
o Point of Sales: Ensure POS system is set up, accurate and maintained; Ensure store staff are trained on POS system
- Administration
o Assist Head of Retail Operations with administration duties, communication and rollouts for the division
o Plan and execute travel arrangements for the retail division
- Store opening and Refurbishments
o Ensure store items are purchased timeously and within budget
o Set up and merchandise store ensuring new stores and refurbishments are fully set-up and operational upon opening
o Ensure store compliance
- Conduct store visits
o Complete store visit checklists and input feedback into the retail scorecard
o Provide feedback driving standards of excellence and consistency
o Meet with and manage relationships with the relevant Beauty Managers and centre management
- Drive excellence customer service
o Audit service levels
o Resolve escalated customer complaints
o Manage mystery shopper process and reporting
- Lead a productive and engaged team
o Manage store leads within the Dermalogica Concept Stores
o Manage retail staff in conjunction with Beauty Managers
o Manage KPIs, PDPs and touchpoints with your team
o IR and compliance: Manage performance and IR Matters with the support of HR; Health and safety representative for stores; support HR with labour department compliance requirements
- Onboarding and recruitment
o Recruitment: Facilitate and assess candidates as part of the recruitment process. Recruit for store roles with the support of HR.
o Sign off on final candidates with Beauty managers in retail stores
o Mange and conduct onboarding for new store employees and ensure they have the necessary onboarding and training material
- Rostering
o Ensure store cover according to rostering guidelines
o Manage team’s leave and store cover
o Manger promotor roster and hours

MINIMUN REQUIREMENTS
· 3 years relevant experience including retail operations
· Ideally 2 Year Health and Skin Care diploma (qualified skin care therapist) or skin care background
· 3 years previous management role
· Proven track record in leading teams and achieving sales targets in a retail environment
· Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint)
· Ability to manage and use POS (Point of sales) system
· Valid driver’s license and own transport, ability to commute
