Role and Responsibilities
- The support administrator's overall duty is to assist in facilitating the proper administrative function of the Board of Trustees.
- The support administrator will assist with all secretarial and compliance functions relating to the Scheme, the Board of Trustees and its committees with the guidance of the Principal Officer.
- Act as a support administrator and contact between the board of trustees, Board committees, EXCO, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation in South Africa, including the Medical Schemes Act, King IV Code of Corporate Governance (where deemed applicable to the Scheme), POPIA and other relevant legislation.
- Provide administrative support in all aspects of board and committee meetings, including preparation of agendas, meeting packs, minutes, and resolutions.
- Ensure that all minutes are accurately captured and timeously finalised in line with the Scheme Rules and management requirements.
- Responsible for duties that include but not be limited to coordinating board/committee meeting schedules, venues and the maintenance of scheme records.
Working Conditions
The following working conditions applies:
- This position works on a hybrid model. A combination of working remotely, from the office or at a venue were necessary.
- Travel might sometimes be required.
Remuneration:
Market related remuneration.
Candidate Requirements
Skills Requirements and Experience
- At minimum, matric and relevant qualification as a Company Secretary or Governance/Law/Risk Management
- Must have at least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role (Corporate Governance /Compliance / Secretarial).
- Qualification as a Company Secretary by the Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Medical Schemes and related legislation would be an advantage
- Knowledge of Good Corporate Governance and processes.
- Previous experience of administration and company secretarial duties in a Fund and Company environment is essential
- The ideal candidate will have an acute attention to detail, excellent organization and document management skills.
- Above average administrative skills and organisational abilities
- Must be highly proficient in business communication (verbal and written).
- Computer Skills (MS Office Suite, Teams, Zoom and any other relevant software)
