Job Description - Junior Spa Therapist
Job Summary
The Spa Therapist administers professional Skin Care Treatment protocols body and beauty
treatments to our guests. They must have a knowledge of numerous skin care treatments and massage modalities, posses a general understanding of skin and body treatments and be willing to train in our establishment specific Eminence Organics professional skin care treatments, massages, Oway scalp care treatments and Manicure and Pedicure treatment offerings we provide. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the
needs of our guests.
Ultimately, you will increase client satisfaction and boost our company’s reputation by providing professional Skin Care, Body, Nail and Hair Care Services.
Duties and Responsibilities
● Proven work experience as a professional spa therapist, with all professional Spa Therapist skills.
● Hands-on experience with massages, manicure, pedicure and basic facial treatments.
● Excellent customer service abilities
● Provide consistent professional skin body and beauty treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
● Maintaining a highly professional attitude with the clientele. Proper manner of serving and addressing the guests is a viral part of this role.
● Effectively inform and educate our guests about specific wellness concerns.
● Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the Wellness Retreat.
● Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
● Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered.
● Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilisation as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures. Perform preparation work, properly clean and restock rooms as required.
● Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the retreat that require attention.
● Actively promote the retreat treatments, services and retail, as well as programs,promotions and/or discounts available.
● Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
● Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests.
● Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
● Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
● Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.
● Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
● Must be flexible to cover guest relations/ Reception duties when required in a professional manner.
● Flexible with Retreat opening and closing times.
● Provide professional facial and body care protocols
● Conduct skin analysis (face and body)
● Manage appointments calendar and booking entries.
● Warmly welcome customers upon their arrival
● Update client records with contact details and treatments received.
● Cross-sell products and additional treatments, when appropriate
● Ensure all areas are clean and equipment is sterilised before use.
Maintain punctuality, be ready and on time for the shift and prompt with each appointment and perform services within the time allocated.
Position Requirements
● To be successful in this role, you should have high level of experience with Skin Care therapies, body and beauty therapies and good knowledge of skin and body care products.
● Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent and professional customer service skills.
● Enjoy working with a team and possess a friendly but professional personality.
● Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge. Must and experience handling reception duties and answering calls from clients.
● Must be a team player.
Education and Experience Requirements
● Junior positions applicant must have a minimum of 1-2 years experience working overseas in an 5* hotel/resort spa or in a similar environment.
● Must be fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
Certifications and references must be available.
