We're looking for a Treasury Trainee to join our team in South Africa

As a Treasury Trainee at Westfalia, you'll play a key role in supporting our treasury team, gaining hands-on experience in cash management, forecasting, and financial reporting. This opportunity will enable you to develop your skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while contributing to real-world financial processes. Working closely with the Senior Treasury Accountant, you'll help ensure smooth treasury operations across our global business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily cash flow forecasting and liquidity management
- Support the recording and reconciliation of foreign exchange transactions
- Help manage cash positions across multiple accounts, ensuring sufficient liquidity
- Contribute to the settlement of local and international payments
- Liaise with banks to resolve payment or account reconciliation queries
- Assist in preparing treasury-related reports for management
- Identify opportunities to improve treasury processes and enhance efficiency
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and support audit processes
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- A Degree or Diploma in either Finance, Accounting, Treasury or Business Administration
- Knowledge and understanding of basic Accounting and or treasury concepts
- Strong computer literacy and advanced proficiency in Excel
- Fluency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
- A strong passion for treasury and a drive to continuously learn and grow
Knowledge and Skills:
- Previous internship or work experience in a finance or treasury-related role
- Knowledge of financial software, particularly ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics 365)
- Familiarity with foreign exchange and international payment processes
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities
