Purpose
To receive and issue stock and non-stock items, and perform stock taking including housekeeping.
Main Responsibilities (not limited to):
• Ensure stock is issued correctly according to requisition and to ensure the transfer of consumables to tuck shop and canteen.
• Responsible to check that the stock received correlates to delivery note/invoice and to ensure stock is correct and sign delivery note to confirm receipt.
• Place stock in store, check quality and pack stock items delivered.
• Buy stock items at the market.
• Receive stock print-out from Canteen Manager, count stock and report on quantities.
• Conduct bi-annual monthly, weekly and daily stock counts.
• Attend to items which need to be returned to suppliers and assist with ad hoc duties when required.
• Assist with filling of reports and correspondence, serving at serving points and with cleaning of the kitchen.
• Ensure store area is clean and tidy at all times, pack stock away neatly, and ensure that items are stacked and stored safely as soon as they are received
• Comply with all safety, health and environmental (SHE) requirements as communicated by the Canteen Supervisor and report any unsafe acts and situations.
The Preferred Candidate is likely to have:
• Grade 12 Essential
• Mathematics or Maths Literacy Desirable
• Computer literacy Desirable
• Minimum 1 years’ stores or related role experience (Essential)
Knowledge and Skills:
• Stock rotation
• Stock take
• Receiving of stock
• Basic Counting Skills
