The successful canddiate will analyse financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures. They also direct and coordinate all Zambian branch operations across the business, this includes the implementation of both tactical and strategic directives and ensuring alignment with the company’s overall objectives.
- Provide leadership and support to all Africa management and teams by ensuring accurate and timeously distribution of relevant information as well as providing coaching and mentoring where required.
- Compile and analyse financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
- Maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting control procedures
- Analyse and review expenditures to understand cost drivers and assist with budget preparation.
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Manage and resolve day to day administration and correspondence issues across all Africa branches. This incorporates both clients and internal distribution challenges.
- Monitoring and analysis of daily company and individual revenue status against budgets and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.
- Key coordination function with HO warehouse operational divisions to ensure seamless operations and to meet delivery and customer expectations.
- Oversee Africa inventory requirements, reconciliations, editing and releasing of backs orders.
- Co-ordinate specific stock counts as and when required. If any anomalies are identified ensure relevant levels of investigation and escalation.
- Final authorisation of “below safety % margin” sales, post a review of the justification statement.
- Provide assistance and training on SAP with regards to any queries, amendments, updating, reports, investigation & corrections of incorrect inventory postings, stock adjustments, re valuations, mark-ups, document records, new programme requirements, corrections & processing, stock identification, descriptions, adjustments, conversions and receipting of Branch local purchases.
- Oversee and monitor Africa branch performance, through mentorship, following of procedures, operations, staffing headcount, identifying and addressing regional problems within my scope or escalating accordingly.
- Liaise with company shared departments to assist with problems and/or improve service delivery.
- Analyse monthly reports to determine any impacts and agree required actions with relevant HOD’s. This includes any general company issues or within the individual Regional operation.
- To analysis any reaction and provide necessary information and opinions on any proposed project or task that is deemed necessary;
- Drive a high level of professionalism and culture across the business for all employees when dealing with all external contacts and colleagues.
- To demonstrate and drive best practice business skills and company product knowledge in the interests of increasing the Firms IP and client service offering.
- Establish and direct staff in defining and achieving their own career goals. This enables increased staff retention and individual growth.
- Maintain and demonstrate a high level of integrity, interaction & cooperation with all company employees.
- To actively practice transparency in leadership & supervision by ensuring effective feedback to relevant personnel on all day to day operational matters inclusive of corrective action requirements.
- Define and provide direction in relation to required improvements and/or operational efficiencies in order to deliver continued stability of the businesses operations and to ensure enablement to meet future growth strategies.
- Through established communication channels across the regions and all business functions ensure that identified operational concerns/issues are dealt with effectively in order to reduce the impacts to both internal operations and our client’s experience.
- To define, design and implement optimal processes & provide system requirement in order to alleviate any inherent process congestions or obstructions with the current operating model.
- Adhoc duties as necessary
Required Skills
- Motor/Mining Industry: 5 to 6 years
Candidate Requirements
- Matric
- Relevant Tertiary education i.e. accounting, business management.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience
- Driver’s Licence (no endorsements)
- Understanding of principle of sound business practice
- Advanced proficiency with windows PC navigation and software including Excel and Word
- SAP business one
- Flexibility of working hours and Travelling
