Job Summary
The SHEQ and Human Resource Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) functions as well as the Human Resources (HR) operations within the organization. This dual-role position requires a proactive leader who can ensure compliance with safety and quality standards while also driving effective HR practices to support employee development, engagement, and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
SHEQ Responsibilities
Safety and Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Investigate and report on safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Health and Environment
- Monitor and manage workplace health programs and environmental practices to ensure a safe and sustainable working environment.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for employees.
Quality Management
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure products/services meet or exceed quality standards.
- Implement and maintain a Quality Management System (QMS) in line with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze SHEQ performance metrics and implement improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Human Resources Responsibilities
Recruitment and Staffing
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and ensure the hiring of qualified candidates.
Employee Relations
- Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, providing support and resolution for workplace issues.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
Performance Management
- Develop and implement performance management systems, including goal setting, evaluations, and feedback.
- Provide guidance on career development and training opportunities.
Compensation and Benefits
- Oversee the administration of employee compensation, benefits, and payroll.
- Conduct salary reviews and market comparisons to ensure competitive compensation packages.
Compliance and Policy Development
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with labor laws and regulations.
- Update and maintain employee handbooks and policy documents.

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 9001) are advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in SHEQ management and HR roles. Experience in a similar dual-role position is preferred.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of SHEQ standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficient in HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
