This role is based in Centurion, Pretoria.
Key Responsibilities:
- People Management:
- Lead and oversee the HR team to achieve set goals and outcomes.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage potential risks.
- Approve payroll and align HR projects with business strategy.
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of HR services.
- Strategy:
- Develop and implement effective recruitment and selection strategies.
- Create and execute onboarding and induction plans.
- Integrate HR best practices across all HR functions.
- Employment Equity:
- Implement the Employment Equity (EE) plan and perform EE management duties.
- Learning & Development:
- Establish and drive learning and development strategies.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning to enhance employee performance.
- Stay informed about employee training needs and requirements.
- Performance & Reward Management:
- Design and implement performance and reward strategies.
- Maintain fair and sustainable performance and reward processes aligned with the company's culture and objectives.
- Report on non-financial rewards and market-related salaries.
- Talent Management:
- Develop and execute succession and career planning strategies.
- Identify key leadership roles and high-potential employees.
- Implement leadership development plans to nurture talent for future roles.
- Create strategies to retain employees and develop their potential.
- Employee Engagement & Wellness:
- Execute culture strategies and plan employee engagement activities.
- Promote initiatives that help employees manage their well-being effectively.
- Implement programs to enhance employee wellness.
- Psychometric Assessments:
- Conduct job analyses for all vacancies.
- Administer psychometric assessments and provide feedback to management and employees.
- Reporting:
- Deliver insightful reports on HR metrics such as attrition analysis, BEE appointments, and recruitment costs.
- Ad Hoc:
- Develop and manage annual function and HR budgets.
- Report to management committees as required.
Qualifications and Experience Needed:
- Degree or Honours in HR or Industrial Psychology.
- 5 years proven experience as an HOD in HR and Payroll.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent strategic thinking and implementation abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of HR best practices and employment law.
