Reporting to the Regional Manager
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To ensure smooth sales operation and satisfactory customer service to all our customers (internal and external).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY RESULTS AREAS
Operational Efficiency:
Achieve and maintain high levels of operational efficiency in warehouse management and distribution processes.
Optimize workflow to minimize downtime and increase throughput.
Measures how efficiently the warehouse space is being used.
Inventory Management:
Ensuring accurate stock levels and efficient inventory turnover as well as sufficient stockholding.
Minimize discrepancies through effective management and auditing processes.
Compares the actual physical stock with the recorded stock levels.
Order Fulfilment:
Managing the picking, packing, and shipping processes.
Achieve high levels of on-time and accurate order fulfilment, meeting or exceeding customer expectations
Measures the percentage of orders fulfilled correctly without errors.
Measures the time taken from receiving an order to its delivery.
Tracks the percentage of orders delivered within the promised timeframe in full.
Safety and Compliance:
Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.
Ensures that housekeeping principles are always adhered to.
Adhering to SOP’s and processes.
Reporting and analysis:
Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse operations, inventory levels and distribution performance.
Analyse operational data to identity trends and areas of improvement.

Cost Managemen:
Contributes to the budget preparation process.
Controlling operation costs and optimizing resource utilization.
Scrap Battery Management:
Effectively manage the collection and processing of scrap product, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
Staff Management:
Recruit, train, and manage warehouse staff, including setting performance expectations and provide ongoing support.
Foster a productive work environment with well-trained and motivated staff, and promoting teamwork.
Overseeing staff performance, discipline, training and development.

Candidate Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Educational Qualifications:
Diploma in Warehouse Management / Distribution / Logistics (NQF 6).
Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Warehousing or Distribution / Logistics Management within a manufacturing environment.
Supervision of employees is critical for this position – experience as a Manager and leading / Managing people is a prerequisite.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE:
Computer Literacy (MS Office suite; SAP; other relevant discipline-specific software programs).
Knowledge of Warehousing and Distribution processes and procedures.
