To oversee global consolidated management accounts and assist with global payroll and to support the Senior Finance Manager with statutory requirements for their South African companies, as well as manage global financial operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Payroll Responsibilities:
Onboarding new employees and maintaining/updating payroll records.
- Assisting employees with payroll-related inquiries.
- Ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Completing all payroll statutory submissions on time (PAYE, UIF, SDL).
- Processing monthly SARS payments via E-filing.
- Preparing monthly EMP201 submissions.
- Reconciling and submitting EMP501 at tax year-end.
- Distributing IRP5 forms at tax year-end.
- Issuing payslips.
- Assisting the Senior Finance Manager with global payroll operations.
- Finance Responsibilities:
Preparing VAT reconciliations and submissions to SARS.
- Managing statutory requirements for South Africa, including CIPC submissions and compensation commissioner returns.
- Assisting with month-end closing processes, including general ledger reconciliation, intercompany charges, and consolidated management accounts.
- Preparing financial reports with commentary and analysis as required by the Senior Finance Manager.
- Assisting the Senior Finance Manager with budgeting and identifying variances, providing explanatory narratives.
- Updating project management software and analysing project finances.
- Performing bookkeeping tasks, including bank reconciliations, and overseeing accounts payable and receivable.
- Providing general support to the Senior Finance Manager.
- Criteria:
A minimum of ten years' experience in a senior finance role, including payroll management.
- Strong knowledge of payroll principles, processes, and procedures.
- A solid understanding of local tax legislation and practices.
- Adequate knowledge of bookkeeping practices and accounting standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with strong numeracy skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage with staff at all levels.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- The ability to adapt when working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- A demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and discretion at all times.
- Qualified: ACCA | CIMA | ACA | PQE (at least 5 years of Post Qualified Experience)
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior finance role, including payroll management.
- Previous experience producing consolidated management accounts.
- Experience working in international companies, including strong exposure to the UK and US markets.
- Experience managing finances in a group structure with multiple entities.
- Solid knowledge of payroll principles, processes, and procedures.
- Strong understanding of local tax legislation and practices.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with strong numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills across all levels of staff.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and discretion
- A payroll qualification is advantageous.
- Experience working with Xero.
- A qualification in Payroll.
