The South African National Biodiversity Institute is looking for a highly motivated, efficient, and enthusiastic person to assist to manage and coordinate employee relations within SANBI and ensure that legislation, policies and procedures are understood, adhere to and applied consistently and timeously by all employees.
This position requires an advance diploma or a degree in Employee Relations, Labour Law, LLB or equivalent qualification at NQF 7. A postgraduate qualification in Employee Relations, Labour Law will be an added advantage. This position also requires a minimum of 4 years of work experience in the relevant field of Employee Relations or Labour Law.
The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: in-depth understanding, extensive knowledge of employee relations/ labour law policies, procedures, practices, processes, systems and frameworks; extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of corporate governance, compliance, risk, procurement, financial management and human resources policies, procedures, practices, processes, systems and frameworks; excellent project management skills; ability to with work diverse team whilst being quality, cost, health and safety conscious; excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; excellent computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools including (Ms Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Outlook). The possession of a valid driver’s licence with at least one-year practical driving experience and a willingness to travel is essential.
Key Performance Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the implementation of Employee Relations or Labour Law policies, procedures, processes, practices, systems and frameworks
- Assist to coordinate and handle employee relations matters;
- Assist in the development and implementation human resources management strategy; and
- Assist in facilitating, coordinating and implementing SANBI’s employment equity.
