Costing and Proposals Engineer

Area; Durban

Salary; R20 000 - R50 000 plus depending on experience 

Brief description of the vacancy:

Experience should be associated with site surveys, sound technical report writing, establishing a BOQ, costing the BOQ and interaction with engineers, consultants, suppliers, procurement and execution.

The candidate should have proven process design experience and be able establish a process design based on appropriate/ relevant mechanical, chemical and operational considerations of each application.

Experience required:

·        5 + Years post B-Tech/Degree experience

·        Areas of exposure, with relevant site and application experience:

o   Chemical dosing (e.g. Polyelectrolyte, Ferric Chloride, Sodium Hypochlorite, Acid (HCL, H2S04, etc), Chlorine Gas, Reagent (eg: SIBX, CuSO4, etc) in potable and wastewater treatment systems

o   Mining (Concentrator plants),

o   Industrial

o   Food and beverage

o   Petrochemical processes

·        Experience should be associated with site surveys, sound technical report writing, establishing a BOQ, costing the BOQ, and interaction with engineers, consultants, suppliers, procurement, and execution.

·        Proven process design experience and ability to establish a process design based on appropriate/ relevant mechanical, chemical and operational considerations of each application.

·        The candidate should be competent in the use of MS Office and a drafting package and should be able to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely at technical and nontechnical levels.

The candidate should be able to work autonomously using initiative when facing challenges, as well as be able to work and interact with colleagues at all levels and demonstrate sound technical knowledge.

Qualifications required:

Candidate should have N.Dip Mech Eng or Chem Eng, with a B.Tech.
