Job Description:
Wortley Design Group Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Scaffold CAD Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role is primarily focused on project management, quality assurance of drawings, and overseeing our drafting team remotely in the Australian time zone (8:00am to 5:30pm GMT+10). The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of various scaffold systems, be capable of managing and coordinating drafting projects, translating design requirements into briefs, and ensure timely and accurate project completion.
This contract role offers full-time equivalent benefits and a Monday to Friday work schedule. As such, we expect a full-time commitment from our applicants. Project Coordinator Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate the drafting team to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality scaffold drawings.

Oversee the production of scaffold drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Review and quality-check all drawings and designs for accuracy and completeness.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align drafting work with project goals.

Maintain and update CAD standards, templates, and libraries.

Provide technical guidance and support to the drafting team.

Ensure projects meet deadlines, proactively addressing any issues that may require additional effort to meet project timelines, including occasional overtime to meet key deadlines.

Independently manage and coordinate their own team.
Drafting Responsibilities:

Develop scaffold designs in compliance with Australian scaffold code and standards.

Use 3D CAD software (Rhinoceros 3D) to produce site-specific scaffold designs, adhering to established procedures.

Revise, update, and maintain plans & drawings, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Required Skills
- Draftsmanship: 1 to 2 years
- Scaffolding Or Scaffolding Design: 3 to 4 years
Candidate Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience in the scaffold industry and at least 1 year in drafting.

Proficiency in CAD / 3D Modelling software: preferably Rhino 8, AutoCAD in 3D, Revit, Solidworks, or similar.

Strong understanding of scaffold systems such as Layher AllRound, Ringlock, Kwikstage, and Cuplock.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Ability to provide technical training and mentorship to junior drafting staff.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.

Excellent project management and team coordination skills.

Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality in English.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English.
- Examples of previously undertaken scaffold design work.
Preferred Background:
-
Experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
-
Knowledge of scaffold design software such as Avontus, ScaffPlan, or iScaf is an advantage but not required.

Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand scaffold standards or willingness to learn quickly.
-
Hands-on experience with scaffolding is preferable.

Certification in drafting, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
Technical Requirements:

You’ll be engaged as a contractor and responsible for your own taxes and local legal obligations related to employment.

You’ll need to supply your own Windows PC or laptop for work use (must meet the system requirements for Rhino 8).

Very reliable high-speed internet & power (with back-up to compensate for load-shedding etc).

Ability to navigate and operate remote project management and cloud management software.
