JOB PURPOSE Actively seeking new customers and develop existing specialized trade customers. To open new accounts within the Industrial sector of customers and to assist in growing identified specialized trade customers. To engage with new customers, identify opportunities, propose solutions and facilitate the handover of the customer to the Area Manager. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: FORMAL EDUCATION Minimum Matric or NTC3 Post matric qualification preferable EXPERIENCE 5 years’ experience in the Industrial sales sector (mining, engineering, construction) Valid Driver’s license COMPETENCIES REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS BEHAVIOURAL Good understanding of the construction, mining and industrial sector Has detailed product and industry knowledge Has in depth knowledge of competitor’s products and can clearly point out the FAB’s of the Company products Good business acumen (i.e. numeracy skills, generation of profit and loss, cash flow, margin) Excellent demonstration skills Able to provide basic training on industrial product lines Able to build strong relationships with resellers at buyer and owner level Planning and organisational skills Problem Solving skills Computer literacy - intermediate Excel, Outlook, Power point, Word Customer Orientation Technical Expertise Results Orientated Communication Skills Impact Initiative Tenacity and Resilience Networking and Influence Attention to Detail Admin Oriented KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Effective new business development & growth of existing business Execute new business development strategic plans Identify opportunities to win business where the customer currently favours competitors’ products. Minimum of 6 calls per day Create and maintain a detailed customer profile Determine who the key decision-makers are and what the prospect’s needs are Call Planning Log all calls on the CRM system Adhere to all call procedures and reporting requirements Customer Research Develop and demonstrate specialist knowledge of new business opportunities. Make use of the internet and social media platforms to understand opportunity within specific focus areas Effective understanding of new business opportunities within specific focus areas Successful transfer of new business to Account Managers Effectively hands over new or focus accounts to the AM within the predefined time Meets all sign-off requirement
