Position Purpose The Sales Engineer is responsible for the coordination and implementation of all sales and marketing initiatives within the assigned industry in the assigned market. The role is responsible for directly dealing with contractors, consultants and end users in the assigned market, assisting with project designs & thermal selections, preparing quotations and other support information as required by the customers. The individual will also be responsible for determining market growth strategies, driving marketing initiatives, hosting engineer seminars etc. Negotiation and closing of the projects contracts will also be required within a role. The Sales Engineer will work closely with the Service Manager to identify service Manager to identify service opportunities within the same market .The role will required timely and accurate completion of sales reports and strategic initiatives as agreed between the Sales Engineer and Sales Director. Knowledge & Skills The suitable candidate should have an existing solid technical understanding of HVACR or Industrial Cooling principles and ideally a previous experience with heat transfer products commonly used in large applications .A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mechanical Sales environment at a medium to high level is preferred. The Sales Engineer works with a degree of independence and needs drive to achieve substantial results without day to day direction. The Sales Engineer will possess superior verbal and written communication skills and be capable off presenting his or her ideas to all levels of company and customer organizations .He/she should be able to travel independently and plan business trips. Required are: A degree or diploma in marketing/engineering or other relevant degree with significant coursework, or equivalent experience in HVACR or industrial process cooling sales and marketing. Additional training or experience in management. Nature & Scope The Sales Engineer will report to Sales and Marketing Director. The position will have interactions with all levels of the organization and customers .Reports required as per the business and leadership requirements should be handled in a timely manner. Principal Accountabilities Achieve orders and sales objectives as required of the operational profit plan specific to the assigned market. To work with the Service Manager in identifying service projects and opportunities within the assigned market. Develop with and in conjunction to Sales Director a marketing strategy to optimize potential in their specific markets. Actively contribute in conjunction to Sales Director a marketing strategy to optimize potential in their specific markets. Actively contribute in conjunction with Sales and Marketing Director, continuous sales strategy to ensure the potential growth of the area. Providing technical advice and sales assistance Managing relationship with clients High level of accountability both internal and external, regarding new business and relationship. Communicate key information regarding market activity to the Sales and Marketing Director and Managing Director. Maintain and update all client records Participate in programs essential to company culture e.g. sales meetings, marketing ventures, and compliance to all legal and ethical standards. Compliance to all local, regional, national, company and all other applicable standards, laws and procedures. Prepares reports as necessary or requested to show performance to plans Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required Additional Responsibilities To work to achieve the objectives and purposes for which the company was established. To achieve individual performance targets set in conjunction with the Sales and Marketing Director. The Sales Engineer is required to work as a team member and ensure professional standards are maintained when interacting on behalf of the company. To ensure customers are completely satisfied with all products and projects/ services from start to completion.
Candidate Requirements
