Business Intelligence (BI) Report Writer
The Report Writer role within our Business Intelligence Department focuses on using BI reporting tools to extract valuable insights from diverse data sources. This position involves creating detailed analyses, reports, and interactive dashboards that aid decision-makers throughout the company. The Report Writer contributes to eliminating data silos, establishing a single source of truth, and enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of data analysis. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between raw data and actionable insights, supporting effective decision-making within the organisation. Here are some key responsibilities and tasks associated with this role but not limited to:
· Data Collection: Gather data from various sources within the company, including databases, spreadsheets, and ERP systems.
· Data Cleaning and Transformation: Clean and preprocess raw data to ensure accuracy and consistency. Transform data into a usable format for analysis.
· Data Analysis: Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Use statistical methods and tools to interpret data and extract meaningful information.
· Reporting: Create reports and dashboards to present key findings and insights to stakeholders. Develop visualisations that make complex data sets easy to understand.
· Identify areas for improvement through automation of various system processes or reports and recommend data-driven solutions.
· Predictive Analysis (Forecasting): Use statistical models and machine learning algorithms to make predictions about future trends and outcomes.
· Database Management: Maintain and manage databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
· Collaboration: Work closely with other teams to understand their data needs and provide relevant insights.
· Tools and Technologies: Utilise BI tools and technologies such as Power BI, SQL, and Excel for data analysis and visualisation.
· Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends (product knowledge), new data analysis techniques, and emerging technologies.
· Communication: Effectively communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
· A background in finance will be advantageous.
· 3-5 years’ experience in report writing is pivotal.
· Proficient with reporting tools such as SQL, Python, C+, etc.
· Advanced Excel knowledge and capabilities
· ERP system knowledge, specifically Sage Evolution and various business system workflows
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
· Financial qualification and/or business/data analytics qualification will be advantageous.
· Alternatively, a qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, Data Science, or a related discipline will suffice.
